PaymentMate Pharmacy Edition™ has all the payment processing options of PaymentMate POS Edition, plus the added benefit of processing FSA (flexible spending account) cards, HRA (health reimbursement arrangement) cards, and similar benefit cards.
FSA and HRA Card Processing for your Pharmacy
Now you may continue to accept your customers' FSA, HRA and other benefit cards with the help of PaymentMate Pharmacy Edition. This edition of PaymentMate:
- Automatically recognizes FSA, HRA and other benefit cards at the point of sale
- Automatically identifies each sales item as a qualified healthcare product (QHP) or non-qualified product at the time of purchase
- Earmarks the QHP on your customers receipt and provides a subtotal of the QHP amount, including tax, less discounts, and in real-time
- Accommodates partial authorization and split tender capabilities for non-qualified products
- Retains this data for up to five years on your computer to provide data for potential IRS audit requests
SIGIS and IIAS Approved
In accordance with Internal Revenue Service Notice 2008-104, as of June 30, 2009, flexible spending account (FSA) cards, health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) cards, and other benefit cards might not be accepted at stores with the Drugstores and Pharmacies merchant category code, unless these stores participate in the Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS). PaymentMate Pharmacy Edition offers a reasonably-priced software solution that allows you to continue to accept these benefit cards. Pharmacy Edition substantiates transactions to meet the IRS requirements for IIAS at the time of purchase. Pharmacy Edition is Payment Card Industry (PCI) PA-DSS validated, like the other editions of PaymentMate, and it is also approved by SIGIS (Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards).
