What's New with PaymentMate
New Features and Enhancements
The latest release of PaymentMate® is version 2.1.170, and offers enhanced support for 64-bit versions of
Micorosft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. This new release also supports the latest card and
check scanners from MagTek® and Epson®, including the MagTek ImageSafe® and Epson CaptureOne™
dual-sided check scanners. The new check scanners are more secure and reliable than previous models. They scan
an image of both sides of each check, so they are able to process nearly any kind of check—including
personal, business, insurance, traveler's, payroll,and other checks. To process all of these kinds of checks
and more, all you need is one of these card and check scanners, the latest release of PaymentMate, and the

New for PaymentMate Standard and Enterprise
New features for PaymentMate Standard and PaymentMate Enterprise Editions include the option of accepting batch
recurring card payments. Now you can process dozens of credit card payments with one click of the button! Simply
copy the information from your own spreadsheet software, paste it into PaymentMate, and you're done. Within
seconds you have authorizations for all of the credit card payments. You can then export this information into
your spreadsheet software for your own records.
New for PaymentMate POS and Pharmacy
New features for PaymentMate POS and PaymentMate Pharmacy Editions include enhancements to the import options.
Now you can optionally choose to have PaymentMate prompt for taxable status for either new or updated inventory.
When you import new sales items, you can opt to have PaymentMate ask you whether each one is taxable or non-taxable.
You can have the software prompt for the taxable status during the import, or when the imported item is first
scanned during a sales transaction.

Updating PaymentMate
The dedicated software programmers of the PaymentMate Research and Development team are always ready to respond
to our customers' requests to enhance PaymentMate, and they frequently release updates to the software. The list that
follows shows enhancements for many of the released versions of PaymentMate, as well as the supported software editions
and supported computer accessories of each version. Unless otherwise stated, software updates are cumulative, and an
enhancement added to an earlier version is also present in all later versions. If you see an enhancement you'd like in
the following list, but you are using an earlier version of PaymentMate, you may update your software free of charge.

When to Update Your Software
You should schedule an upgrade if you are using a version earlier than the one having the enhancements you need, as
show in in the list of version enhancements that follows. If you are unsure what version of PaymentMate you are
currently using, open the PaymentMate software. PaymentMate displays the version and build number at the bottom,
left-hand corner of the software. The first three numbers, separated by periods, are the version number; the last
number is the build number. (These numbers will be the same whether you are using PaymentMate Standard Edition,
PaymentMate Pharmacy Edition, PaymentMate POS Edition, or PaymentMate Enterprise Edition). If the version number is
lower than the latest build in the list that follows, you may call to request an update, as explained in the next
paragraph.

How to Update Your Software
There is no additional fee for those PaymentMate updates that your
Software User Agreement
covers. However there might be an additional cost to upgrade from one edition of PaymentMate to another. (For
example, additional monthly fees might apply if you decide to upgrade from PaymentMate Standard Edition to PaymentMate
Enterprise Edition.) Whether you update or upgrade your software, it takes little effort from you. All you have to do
is contact the
aymentMate Helpdesk
of Tempus Technologies, Inc. and schedule an automatic update. PaymentMate will then automatically download and install
scheduled updates when it next closes the daily check or card batch.

Version History
What follows are the release notes for many of the released versions of PaymentMate. Information provided includes the
software editions supported by each, and the computer accessories supported by each, and the software enhancements,
feature requests and bug fixes added to each version of the software.
Please note: All features and enhancements are cumulative, and include those of previous versions. For example,
if you update your software to version 2.1.208, you will also get the features and enhancements listed in versions
2.1.170, 2.1.144, and so on. To view the information for a version of PaymentMate, just select its row.

Description: Pharmacy and POS Editions now support using Microsoft® SQL Server 2008, instead of the software's
native database. Using SQL Server greatly increases the speed of processing transactions, especially for those
having many thousands of sales items imported, or scanned into the software. There is no additional cost to upgrade to
add SQL Server support. This version of PaymentMate also has several enhancements for all editions, such as an option
to print different numbers of receipts for credit, debit and signature capture, and the option to create drop-down lists
with customer and transaction IDs so that these do not have to be typed.
