In a time when many software companies have come and gone, Tempus Technologies has continued to grow. Founded in the 1980s, Tempus Technologies has been in business nearly as long as the Microsoft® corporation. For more than 20 years, Tempus Technologies has served a growing number of loyal customers, and today serves customers throughout the United States and the world.

Changing with the times

Since 1987, Tempus Technologies has developed and supported innovative software for niche markets such as video and game rentals and sale and remains the number one solution provider of choice for the now consolidated video rental segment. In addition, Tempus has major retail accounts employing software developed to manage the explosion of buying and selling used games.

In the 1990s the company pioneered a POS system allowing it's customers to network and process transactions on both DOS and Windows® computers. Tempus Technologies formed business partnerships with RentTrak®, First Data™, TeleCheck® and others, which are still strong to this day. Today, Tempus Technologies created PaymentMate, which is the only software approved by First Data for processing credit cards, debit cards, gift cards and checks over a broadband Internet connection. The corporation also has created a payment gateway, that allows an increasing number of TeleCheck customers to process check transactions using their own POS software.
